ericEric was born in Brisbane, Australia on 11th October 1933 and lives with his wife Ruth at Upper Cedar Creek, Samford in the leafy north western hinterland of Brisbane where he has his studio.

Eric is considered one of Australia's most gifted artists who has painted professionally since 1965. His love of the Australian bush is well demonstrated in his diversity of styles, classic Australian, yet abstract, delicate, vibrant and poetic. Eric paints with oils, watercolours and pastels and is considered one of the top Colourists by his contemporaries.

He won his first prize at 15 years of age and since then has won over 80 prizes for Representational and Non-Representational awards, plus hundreds of Commended Prizes. His double nomination and acceptance for the BHP Awards for Excellence occurred in 1984 and 1988, and in 2001 The Pine Rivers Council purchased 10 paintings of creek and river scenes of historical significance in the Pine Rivers Shire.

His largest commission was to paint 234 paintings purchased to hang in the Carlton Crest Hotel in Brisbane. One of his most satisfying commissions was for a large painting (3x2) of a rainforest creek scene to hang in the Queensland Room, Royal Commonwealth Society in London which was commissioned by Lady MacAllister of Herston, Brisbane.

Eric exhibits nationally and internationally and is a prolific and generous teacher in imparting his knowledge to the many who appreciate his skill, knowledge and patience.
